“The music industry is going through enormous change. Normally big companies are going through change in one area of their business – their distribution system or one of their products – but everything is changing in music with digitalization. We’ve got to be faster.

“More decision making is being pushed to the front end of the company so it is key how we position ourselves in each market. It is very competitive and the company who has the best people will win. If you have the best people in the best jobs, it’s game over.

“Nobody yet within our industry has it cracked. I have worked in sectors where one company is miles ahead of the rest, but in music everyone is about the same. And this is a business very focused on people – but we all know talent management isn’t easy.”
